Just realized I never posted the pics of Joaquíns biopsy. These are taken immediately before and after his op. Today, a week later, all he has as a reminder is a scab a couple of millimeters in diameter, about where you’d point to say where is liver is. Results are not due for another week or so.
The only thing that bothered him about the whole stunt was the IV line in his arm. Not the nearly twelve hours without neither food nor drink, not the puncture or whatever you call it in his liver. Ah, and all those doctors and nurses coming in to check his blood and pressure weren’t at all welcome either: after the first one, anybody and everybody that came in with a uniform on was requested to leave with a “¡¡Talí!!†that left no room for interpretation. This included the aide who brought us water, but fortunately didn’t include his pædiatrician.
